Hi,
The CAMH early intervention service (not 'in psychosis') here in Luton uses systemic theory and practice to inform its model of service, and supports systems around the child/young person. Rather than only working with parents/carers/families, we also work with children's centres, primary care professionals and schools systems interacting with the child (and recently we have started working more closely with children's social services). We work both (i) with targeted families and their systems, as well as (ii) train and support frontline systems to change their perception of mental health to one that is relational in concept, and offer continuing support, such as consultation, including for groups of staff.
Regards,
Marc

Subject: Community Psychology
Is anyone on the list aware of any UK community work being done that is psychological (rather than political) in nature and theory (rather than based on ideology). An example might be a clinical psychologist who infiltrates a planning group using French and Raven's theory of Social Power, then pursuades the planning group to change its policy on, say, ASBOs using Bion's group analytic theory.
