The AO Foundation is a medically guided non-profit organization led by an international group of surgeons specialized in the treatment of trauma and disorders of the musculoskeletal system. Founded in 1958 by 13 visionary surgeons, AO today fosters one of the most extensive network of currently more than 12,000 surgeons, operating room personnel, and scientists in over 100 countries.
AO Clinical Investigation and Documentation (AOCID) is a service unit within the AO Foundation, responsible for the planning, conducting and analysing clinical studies at a global level.
We are looking for a highly motivated person to join our team in Dübendorf (near Zürich):
Medical Statistician
Your key responsibilities include: the development of statistical analysis plans with correct and timely execution of statistical analysis; methodological and statistical support for clinical studies according to project milestones; and statistical consultancy for project managers and principal investigators. You are able to make complex statistical analysis, comprehensible to laypersons, and can translate the results into recommendations for clinical practice. You facilitate publication of scientific results within AOCID (peer-reviewed publications, presentations at international meetings) and provide statistical consultancy for external partners, including peer-review of publications.
You have successfully completed your MSc degree in statistics or an equivalent qualification (eg GradStat), combined with a minor degree in a bio-medical discipline. We prefer candidates with at least three years of professional experience in the analysis of clinical research data. Ideally, you have sound knowledge of SAS or STATA. As a good communicator, you are fluent in English (oral and written), and you have good writing skills related to scientific publications. Furthermore, you have numerical and analytical skills, pay attention to detail, and are customer-oriented as well as a team player.
