Postdoctoral Research Assistant
(salary group 13 TV-L, 39.8 hours/week
for the duration of one year, potentially renewable for a second year)
to begin on October 1, 2013 or later at the Institute for Mathematical Stochastics
This postdoc position offers an opportunity for independent research as well as for collaboration with the various research groups at the Institute of Mathematical Stochastics. Focal areas of those research groups are mathematical statistics (nonparametric regression, statistics of non-euclidean spaces, spatial statistics, statistical inverse problems, extreme value theory, pattern recognition, statistics in biophysics) as well as stochastic processes (point processes, spatial processes, models of particle systems, population processes, stochastic analysis).
Successful candidates should have a Master’s Degree (or equivalent) and a Ph.D. in Mathematics and work in a field with strong connections to the above-mentioned research areas.
