Position: Senior Statistician

Salary: £25,000- £37,000 pa
Type: 6 months contract (with possibility of extension)

A position is available for a Statistician or Senior Statistician within the R & D team in the area of diabetes. Abbott Diabetes Care designs, develops and manufactures leading-edge glucose monitoring systems and test strips for use in both home and hospital settings.
The opportunity is based in our purpose-built facility in Witney, West Oxfordshire. Your main role will be to provide statistical support and expertise to assist in the development and improvement of products including laboratory and clinical trials.
Specific duties will include:
• Clinical study analysis, including creation and review of plans and reports
• Design and analysis of experiments and review of past data to improve products and processes
• As a Senior Statistician you will lead work programs, ensure data analysis and reporting activities are executed to schedule, and highlight relevant issues.
The role will involve collaborating with a number of different people and departments across the business. You will need excellent written and verbal communication skills and team-working skills, with the ability to communicate results to both technical and non-technical colleagues, in addition to your detailed knowledge of statistical methods and data analysis.
You must also have an organised approach to your work, with excellent attention to detail.
You are likely to have an MSc (or equivalent) in Statistics or Mathematics, although applications are welcomed from candidates with a BSc (or equivalent) in a related subject with relevant work experience.
You will have practical SAS experience and knowledge of clinical Trials.
