We are looking for a motivated and experienced Research Fellow
(Statistician) to work on an Asthma UK funded research grant to
describe the epidemiology and estimate the NHS and societal costs of
asthma in the UK. This work will be undertaken in conjunction with
academic collaborators in England, Wales and Northern Ireland and will
involve the secondary analyses of stand-alone and linked databases to
develop national pictures and a UK-wide overview of the epidemiology,
healthcare utilisation and costs associated with asthma.
You will have a degree and a PhD in statistics, epidemiology, health
economics or a related discipline; significant experience of managing
and analysing routinely collected data and a proven ability to secure
research grant funding as well as project management experience.
The appointee will be well-organised, have excellent communication
skills, a high level of accuracy in all aspects of work and bring
enthusiasm, and a commitment to scholarship to the role.
The position is a temporary post, up to one year, starting 1st October
2013 and is available on a full-time basis (35 hours per week).
