Graduate Trainee Library Assistant, UK Health Forum

Salary: £19,500 per annum
Location: UK Health Forum offices, London, WC1
Length of contract: 12 month fixed term contract

The UK Health Forum (UKHF) is a charitable alliance aiming to decrease levels of avoidable chronic disease in the UK and internationally. The graduate trainee position will be based in London, joining a team of four information professionals who provide electronic information services around chronic disease prevention. The position is open to a graduate wishing to gain one year's experience in an online information service environment before undertaking a self-funded postgraduate course in Librarianship/Information Studies.

Responsibilities of the post will include assisting with provision of extensive current awareness services in public health, cataloguing content using various online tools and critical appraisal of public health reports and publications. We will also support the successful applicant with a specific project, to be mutually agreed.

We will provide full training and provide opportunities for professional development and research. Applicants should have good knowledge of IT and familiarity of searching the Internet for quality information. An interest in public health and electronic information provision is advantageous.
