The Institute of Transport and Logistics Studies<http://sydney.edu.au/business/itls> (ITLS) within the Business School undertakes graduate teaching, management development programs, grant and contract research and development in transport, logistics, and supply chain management. It is internationally recognised for its research and education programs. In 2012 transportation and logistics research in the Business School received the highest possible ranking of "well above world standard" in the Australian Government's Excellence for Research in Australia 2012 research assessment exercise, while the ITLS director recently received the 2013 Smart Premier Award for Excellence in Supply Chain Management.
The ITLS is part of Australia's Key Centre of Excellence in Transport Research and Education and celebrates its 22nd year in 2013. Through the establishment of the key centre and a memorandum of understanding signed between the University of Sydney and the University of Johannesburg, ITLS is an international collaboration at three nodes: ITLS Sydney, ITS Monash and ITLS Africa.
We are currently seeking to make a new appointment in supply chain management at the Associate Professor level. As a successful applicant you will contribute to:
* the effective teaching of innovation and management, curriculum development and the enhancement of teaching methodology
* the school's engagement with industry and professional bodies in order to develop innovative teaching programs that enhance the student learning experience and their employability
* the research strengths of the school, including the pursuit of competitive research grants and regular publication in journals of high national and international standing
* the school's expanding program of professional and industry research collaboration
* the supervision of higher degree research students
* academic administration and service activities.
To be successful you will possess:
* a completed PhD in management or a related discipline
* the demonstrated ability to contribute to high-quality teaching of innovation and management
* an active program of innovation and management related research
* an established record of high-quality refereed journal publications
* expertise in the major area of supply chain management
* evidence of successful teamwork and a collegial approach
* course and program development experience
* leadership skills, administrative experience and evidence of service contributions level.
Desirable criterion for your appointment is commercial or consulting experience.

Remuneration package Associate Professor: $154,135 - $169,647 p.a. (which includes a base salary Level D $130,422 - $143,680 p.a., leave loading and up to 17% employer's contribution to superannuation).
A salary supplement may be negotiated with the successful applicant.
The level of appointment will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
