The Arts Emergency Service, aka The Alternative Old Boys Network (http://www.arts-emergency.org/),
which has been going for a few years as a campaign group, has just secured status as a registered
charity in England and Wales. Their remit is to increase access to higher education (principally
arts and humanities) for those from under-privileged backgrounds.
Their official launch event is 20 June at the Hackney Empire. They have an exciting and high-profile
lineup of comedians, performers, academics, authors and others for the event. Further details and
ticket purchasing info is available here: http://www.hackneyempire.co.uk/artsemergency.
If you can't attend the event, but would still like to get involved with The Arts Emergency Service,
then you can register to volunteer here: http://bit.ly/theAOBN.
Please pass this message on.
