Dear all
A reminder that I am the responsible person for the appointment or election of three SRN members to the SRN Executive Council for the period from 2013-2015. The relevant rules are in section 5 of the constitution (adopted last year), and I attach these at the bottom of this message.
Basically, if you intend to stand for the council, I need your nomination by midday British Summer Time on Friday 19th July 2013. You must have been a member of the SRN for a year, and your nomination should be proposed and seconded by members of the network. It should consist of a short statement (no more than 250 words) outlining why you intend to stand (or any other message you wish to send).
As Kirsi Rinne outlined in a previous message, if there are more than three nominations elections will be organized at the Annual General Meeting to be held during the next conference in Wisconsin-Madison on August 22, 2013 at 3:30-4:30 pm.
After I receive nominations, I will inform you whether or not a ballot is necessary, and of the procedure for voting.
Please consider carefully whether you should stand. We need enthusiastic people to help develop the Network - meetings are organised by Skype and followed up by email.
All best wishes
Ian
