Hello all,
Also, do they enjoy listening to speech radio or did they enjoy being
read to as a child? In our read aloud groups for adults they often
comment that they haven't been read to since then and really enjoy it.
Best wishes,
Abi

Try the multi-tasking argument - it's the only way you can be reading a
book whilst getting on with other things! Also ideal for boring jobs - I
often wash up to audio books.
For those with the right technologies, podcasts are also brilliant and
blend seamlessly into audio books. They work well with BoomBox type
devices - save a bunch on a usb stick, pop it in the slot and an
afternoon of entertainment, enlightment and everything else washes round
you while you tend the weeding, make a cake or whatever else.

Subject: From print to audio
Some of our readers are reluctant to try audio books because "it's just
not the same as having a book in your hand" or "it always sends me to
sleep". At the RNIB library service we want to encourage people to at
least try it so they can read many more titles. Have you got a top tip
for getting used to audio books or how to practice effective listening?
Thanks for your help!
