An interesting topic. but making this a new diagnosis is, in my opinion a mistake. Otherwise, we could use "clinically fed up" or something similarly indistinct to try and medicalise a life situation...I have heard a lot of bad press about the new DSM, there was a radio 4 programme recently about it, sounds like the American College of Psychiatrists is an old boys club , and British psychiatrists don't rate it.
As Albert Ellis (grandfather of CBT, no relation!) said, 'we disturb ourselves' with our responses to situations. This is where our role and mediation come into its own I feel, but I have no qualms having the "...and they may sack you..." conversation if I feel someone's attitude and behaviour is not helping their situation (there was a recent discussion on jisc debating whether we as OHA's should be having this type of conversation with an employee).

Tim
