A number of postdoctoral research positions are available for
outstanding candidates based at The Open University (OU), Milton Keynes
(40 minutes north of London), UK.
The positions are associated with two projects: a European Research
Council (ERC) Advanced Grant on "Adaptive Security and Privacy"
(www.asap-project.eu <http://www.asap-project.eu/>), and an EPSRC
research project on "Privacy Dynamics: Learning from the Wisdom of
Groups" (www.privacydynamics.net <http://www.privacydynamics.net/>).
Successful candidates will be expected to have completed their PhD by
the time they start, and will already have an excellent research profile
and potential for continued achievement.
Successful candidates will have experience in one or more of the
following areas: ubiquitous computing, privacy, or software engineering
for adaptive systems. They will also have skills in developing of
prototype tools and demonstrators (particularly for ubiquitous and
social computing), or conducting user studies of ubiquitous computing
technologies.
Successful candidates will have an opportunity to work both
independently and as part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary research
team, within the software engineering and design group at the Open
University and with research colleagues at Imperial Colleague London,
Exeter University, and Lero - The Irish Software Engineering Research
Centre (www.lero.ie <http://www.lero.ie/>).
Successful candidates will also have opportunities to co-supervise PhD
research students (also being recruited for the projects).
The positions are available immediately, with a desirable start date of
1st September 2013 (or very soon after) for the for the 3-year Privacy
Dynamics post. Other posts may be 1-2 years in duration.
