Psychogeography-related talk by Tina Richardson as part of the Nick
Drake event at the Hyde Park Picture House in Leeds on June 16th.
Title:
Anchoring Rural/Urban Aesthetics: A Sense of Place in the Nick Drake
film A Skin Too Few
Abstract:
Tina's talk will look at the filmic elements that are used in A Skin
Too Few in order to situate the viewer within a particular aesthetic.
After the showing of the film, Tina will demonstrate how a sense of
place is created so as to deliver particular messages that often
support the dialogue, but sometimes add something else to it that
might not be apparent on a cursory viewing. These anchors are tools
used to situate the viewer, add to the story and as transitional
devices which move the story forward in time and space. There will be
time for further discussion at the end of Tina's talk.
