Good morning all,
We are embarking on a film/documentary project relating to our studio
pottery collection that will involve interviewing artists, collectors,
gallery owners and others involved in the post-war British ceramics
movement about their connections to others working/collecting at the
time. We are taking a modular approach to filming - i.e. doing a series
of short, isolated interviews with key persons. Starting with six.
However, the long-term goal is to expand this into something much
larger. So, although there will initially be a series of separate
interviews, we will also be hoping to tease out several, over-arching
narratives that could, themselves, turn into standalone documentaries.
In short, we need a filmmaker who can help us structure this project so
that we get useful informatio/content from interviewees that can be
re-used in the future. Has anyone worked with good documentary
filmmakers in the past that I could contact? Someone with an
understanding of art/studio pottery would be handy, but not essential.
I am based in York at YMT.
Kind regards,
Martin Fell
