I wanted to pick up on Colin's question on Friday and the replies from
Jeremy and David surrounding what museums are offering in terms of
free high resolution image downloads.
Moving beyond free access to images for non-commercial use, does anybody
know of any notable examples of institutions in the UK offering free use of
images under a more open CC BY license in the way we are starting to see
emerging in the US?
Many thanks,
Oliver

Subject: [MCG] Free Use of Museum Images
Dear all,
I am conducting some research into museums which offer free downloads
of digital images from their collections for reuse for personal or
educational
use.
I would like to know what museums you know that allow free
non-commercial downloads. I have a small list already and I would like
to make that list as comprehensive as possible.
Of course I will share my findings with members of this group.
Many thanks in advance.
Colin Hynson
