Hi all,
Would you like to visit a library outside your own sector? or are you interested in special collections? Good news, Career Development Group Wales are organising a visit to the National Museum of Wales library on Friday 14 June at 2pm. The tour should last approximately one hour.
The museum offers a fascinating collection of books on subjects such as Archaeology, Fine and Applied Art, Industrial and Social History, The Natural Sciences and Museum Studies and includes special collections such as the Willoughby Gardner collection of early natural history books. More information can be found here - http://www.museumwales.ac.uk/en/library/
On the same day at 1:05pm there is an Art Lunchtime talk, where artist Shirley Jones discusses her work in the exhibition "30 Years of the Red Hen Press". More information can be found here - http://www.museumwales.ac.uk/en/whatson/?event_id=6453. Attendance at the talk is optional, but if you like to attend this as well I need an idea of numbers.
Due to the size of the museum library, numbers are strictly limited to 12, and places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
To secure a place please email [log in to unmask] Please indicate whether you wish to attend the tour at 2pm, and also the lunchtime talk at 1:05pm.
For the tour we will meet in the main foyer of the museum at 1:55pm.
National Museum Cardiff is located at Cathays Park, Cardiff, CF10 3NP.
I look forward to seeing you there.
