The GLA is looking to recruit to this exciting role, leading a team of data and mapping specialists within the Intelligence Unit. We’re looking for someone with a strong technical background in GIS and experience of delivering a range of mapping related services to both internal and external customers. You should be familiar with desktop and web GIS tools and be comfortable working with large and complex datasets.
The role will be involved in a variety of different projects, ranging from small map requests through to the strategic development of Intelligence products such as SASPAC and the London Datastore. You’ll be expected to work closely with IT professionals and data analysts but also have an ability to communicate effectively with non-technical staff at various levels within the organisation. You will need to manage and motivate your team and ensure that they make an effective contribution to the work of the unit, using innovative mapping and visualisation techniques to present data in new and meaningful ways.
