After having a number of problems with our NPS silently dropping
packets, putting a FreeRadius box between NPS and NRPS is something we
(Kent) keep toying with the idea of.
One of the main advantages we can see is that it gives a single point
where we can monitor and log roaming connections, rather than having all
the roaming traffic mixed in with the masses of local authentication
logging. Now term has ended, perhaps it is something we can investigate
this summer.
From the brief look I have had, I believe the configuration for a proxy
is fairly straight forward, however if someone were to produce a HOWTO,
that would be very useful.
