And also as of relion-1.2 there is a new program for postprocessing:
relion_postprocess Just type it on the command line without arguments to
see the options.
It will automatically calculate a mask around your particles (or you may
provide your own), then calculate a masked FSC to get a higher resolution
estimate (and take the effects of masking into account using
high-resolution noise substitution, Chen et al, Ultramicroscopy, in
press), then do MTF-correction and automated B-factor correction. In the
process the 2 half-reconstructions are combined into a single map, which
is optimally filtered. The resulting map can be directly visualized in
your favourite viewer. This is what we now do on all our maps, I hope it's
useful for you as well.
