Teaching in practice: for staff working in art, design and media
London, 26 – 28 June 2013
We would like to invite you to take part in the second annual HEA ‘Teaching in Practice’ event in London which takes place on 26 – 28 June 2013.
Pre-event reception, 26 June 2013
The two day programme starts with a welcome and drinks reception at the Business Design Centre Islington, where the New Designers Exhibition Part 1 will be getting underway. Teaching in practice delegates can view the exhibition, which showcases the work of design-led graduates from institutions across the UK whilst enjoying a glass of wine and getting to know fellow delegates.
Teaching in Practice, 27 – 28 June 2013
Teaching in Practice then moves to the Victoria and Albert Museum, Kensington. There we offer you a unique opportunity to reflect on current and best practice in art, design and media education and upon your own practice; and also to consider the position of art, design and media education within the visual arts sector.
We have keynotes from Professor Susan Orr, Dean of Teaching and Learning at the University of the Arts, London, Professor David Crow, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Manchester School of Art and Leanne Manfredi, Higher Education and Creative Industries Programme Manager, at the Victoria and Albert Museum.
Interactive workshops include explorations of the crit, employability, inclusion, drawing practice, aesthetic forms of knowledge construction.
We round off the event with an invitation to Friday Late at the V&A: Sky Arts Ignition: Memory Palace.
This event is FREE to all staff working at institutions which subscribe to the HEA (or £75 per day).
