Hello,
Hope this finds you well!
I would like to share with everyone in this list a new website that may be of interest to campaigners, organisations, and local authorities working towards barrier-free environments.
This is the key outcome of a two-year Grundtvig partnership between disability and access organisations from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Spain and the UK. The Centre for Accessible Environments (that I work with) was the partner representing the UK.
Follow/copy this link on your browser to visit the website: http://www.universaldesigneu.info
You can navigate through its pages to find case studies, recommendations and good practice examples that we shared in the course of the learning partnership. Some of the online case studies include the Port Aventura Theme Park in Reus (Spain), the Money Museum of the Bank of Lithuania in Vilnius, the Medieval Sigulda Castle (Latvia), the Tallinn University of Technology (Estonia), and St Paul’s Cathedral in London.
We would also love to know what you think about the website and how we can improve it, if you have the time. You can complete a 2 - 5min survey: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/8HJHG8G or contact CAE directly on [log in to unmask]
Find out more about the partnership and view photos here: www.cae.org.uk/udbe.html
The project has been funded with support from the European Commission (through the Lifelong Learning Programme).
Many thanks and apologies for any cross-postings!
