Dear All,
Win a £25 Book Token and help WESLINE (West European Studies Library and Information Network) understand the work of librarians and information staff who use languages in their work by filling in this survey http://frenchstudieslibrarygroup.wordpress.com/home/projects/. It will only take 10 minutes!
You will help WESLINE serve its current members better and make WESLINE aware of the needs of librarians/information staff which are not currently being met. The data from the questionnaire will be analysed and discussed at the forthcoming WESLINE conference to be held in Oxford (Balliol College), 2-3 September, 2013.
The survey about West European languages in UK libraries is being launched today (also being publicised in CILIP Update). Although a WESLINE questionnaire, the survey is hosted on the FSLG (French Studies LIbrary Group) website. We would particularly like to hear from library and information staff in HE and FE libraries, as well as national libraries and libraries in the cultural sector. Our questionnaire has two main aims: 1 To take a snap-shop of language expertise in our UK libraries; 2 To discover extent of awareness of library language groups such as the umbrella group WESLINE, ACLAIIR (Advisory Council on Latin American and Iberian Information Resources) FSLG, GSLG, ISLG (French, German and Italian Studies Library Groups).
We’d be very grateful if you could take a moment to fill in the survey at http://frenchstudieslibrarygroup.wordpress.com/home/projects/. Those filling in the questionnaire will automatically be entered into a prize draw with a £25 book token as prize. Deadline for submissions: Wednesday, 26th June.
Nick Hearn (on behalf of WESLINE)
