We are pleased to launch Social Media
Discovery<http://www.socialmedia-discovery.com/?locale=en> (SMD),
a new tool developed by GreenData that allows to catalog webpages such as
tweets, Youtube videos, blog entries or Flickr images or any other resourse
easily and quickly directly from your browser.
Using a browser extension, SMD captures metadata from a website,
automatically filling out a form with relevant fields and information. The
cataloger can also add other fields and modify the data entered according
to his institution´s criteria.

The person in charge of cataloging will only have to check if the
information is correct and save the record. All records cataloged by SMD
are visible through SMD homepage, where you can export, edit or delete
records.
The records cataloged by Social Media Discovery are easily integrated in
the library catalog or discovery tool. There are two ways to do this:
through OAI-PMH standard or exporting the data in XML format.
We encourage you to visit Social Media
Discovery<http://www.socialmedia-discovery.com/?locale=en> where
you can discover this new application to select and integrate social
content into the library tools in order to offer a richer experience to
users.
Enjoy!
