School of Social and Community Medicine, University of Bristol
Research Assistant (NIHR Research Methods Fellow)
£30424 p.a.
Closing date for applications: 30 June 2013
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly-talented candidate who is
a recent graduate; returning to work after a career break; or looking to
change the focus of their career. We are offering a two-year NIHR
fellowship to work in the area of meta-epidemiology within the Centre
for Research Synthesis and Decision Analysis in the University of
Bristol School of Social and Community Medicine – one of the UK’s
leading centres for research in population health sciences. This is an
excellent opportunity to embark on a career in medical statistics or
health services research methodology. The successful candidate will
receive a tailored training programme, and will be encouraged to take a
suitable Masters degree in medical statistics or a related discipline
during their first year (in a University other than Bristol).
Alternatively, she or he will follow suitable courses from the School’s
highly regarded short course programme. The Fellowship offers a rare
opportunity to gain early experience of managing research staff in a
supported environment: the successful candidate will take a key role in
designing and supervising a short-term internship midway through the
appointment.
