The Centre for Youth and Criminal Justice (CYCJ) has been established in the School of Applied Social Sciences, University of Strathclyde and incorporates the Youth Justice National Development Team. The Centre is funded by Scottish Government and provides practice support to practitioners and managers in the delivery of youth justice services. It carries out research, consultancy and training to this end.

Director: We are seeking an exceptional candidate to take on the role of Director of the Centre. We are looking for a dynamic individual to drive forward the profile and reputation of the Centre. You will possess a clear strategic vision of knowledge exchange, research and policy and practice development in youth and criminal justice, together with senior level professional, leadership and management experience. You will demonstrate excellent communication and engagement skills.

Research Fellow: We are seeking an experienced researcher to lead and develop a range of research in youth justice, social work and related areas. You will be a graduate in the social sciences with a PhD and/or equivalent research experience, good written and oral communication skills and experience of qualitative and quantitative research. You should also have experience of researching sensitive topics and understand the practical and ethical issues involved. Knowledge and experience of working with children and young people who offend is desirable.
