Hi all!
My predecessor used an fMRI block design with a 7-second stimulus window and varying 'rest' window, and, looking back and at other studies in the field, feels that the 7-second stimulus window allowed for too much noise and may have obscured the resulting statistical analyses comparing the stimulus to baseline. Is there any way to now go back, having collected data, and analyze only the first 4-seconds of the stimulus window for each participant? We're hoping to do this because her original analysis of stimulus > baseline wasn't significant and we're unsure if it's 1) too much noise in the original stimulus signal or 2) a poor baseline task. We're hoping looking at just the first 4 seconds of the stimulus can help us with this, to determine if it was just noise, or if, indeed, the baseline task is poor and needs to be changed for the continuing study.
Cheers!
