You do not need the expression-function for truth tables. Just go to
"Analyze -> Crisp sets -> Truth table algorithm " or "Analyze -> Fuzzy sets
-> Truth table algorithm ", depending on what set type you are dealing with,
and you see a window allowing you to select the conditions and the outcome
of your analysis. I guess this is also described in the manual, but I am
note sure.

Hi Ingo
The 'expression' is the name of the box in the 'compute variable' section of
the software - these are the names assigned by the software developers - I'm
wanting to combine variables to create a truth table but I can't find
anywhere where it tells me how to do this - just information about truth
tables and how to manipulate or interpret - but I can't get to that stage if
I can't get the program to do something with my data.
Does that help?
Cheers

What exactly do you mean by combining cases and compare variables between
sets of cases? And what expression do you have in mind in particular?

Hi
Could anyone please advise? I'd like to know the formula rules for creating
an 'expression' in the 'compute variable' part of the 2.5 software. I have
my data and have arranged it per the rules, saved as CSV file and imported
successfully but now i need to work out how to combine cases and compare
variables between sets of cases - which is what i think i need to create in
that expression formula.
I've been searching all over but can't see any guide or video that explains
how this is to work.
Really appreciate some assistance with this!
thanks
Sharon
