The Library & Information History Group (a special interest group of CILIP) is seeking a new Publicity Officer.
If you have an interest in library history, and enjoy networking, why not consider joining a friendly and active committee? We have two face-to-face meetings a year (one in London and one in either the north or west, for which travel expenses are reimbursed) plus two online meetings using the discussion forum on our website.
The Publicity Officer is responsible for putting together and sending out a monthly e-bulletin to members, advertising our events and activities to e-lists, making and maintaining contacts with other groups, branches, and relevant organisations to publicise our activities to particular regions or special interest groups, designing posters and fliers as needed, and assisting on a rota basis with the Group's Twitter account. This is a key role on the committee, and an excellent opportunity to develop and practise marketing skills and to make professional contacts.
To find out more or apply for the position, please contact the Chair, Kathryn, on [log in to unmask] or 01223 339393 (office hours).
