Dear all,
Anyone (without a doctorate) researching / writing / publishing and wondering if they can get credit for it?
I'm about to have a go at getting a PhD by publication (prior published works, plus a short-ish commentary rather than one large research project) and thought it'd be nice to have a support group!
So, we've set up a Google+ group (https://plus.google.com/communities/112753720363604204428) and will be using the hastag #libphd on Twitter to help pull people together. Whether you are just starting to publish and want to set some sort of end goal in mind, have a large corpus of work you want to turn straight into a PhD, or have done something similar before and fancy helping out, go along and register for the group and start talking...
In recognition that these things work best if people can meet face to face as well as virtually, plus lots of us find it difficult to find time to write, I thought an early aim should be to organise a writing retreat... so we spend a few days away talking about the issues, challenge each other to write and generally have a good and productive time. Please add your thoughts to the group if this seems a good idea to you!
Thanks,
Andrew
