We are running a free to attend event for information professionals in health and social care on 2nd July in Manchester
Information and Advice Services in Social Care – What's NEW?
The TFPL Health SIG meeting will be held on Tuesday, 2nd July 2013 at 5.30pm at the Manchester Conference Centre http://www.manchesterconferencecentre.co.uk/location/ .
As health and social care move toward greater integration care and support services need to work closely with health, housing and the wider community to support the needs of people with long-term conditions, disability, mental health problems and an ageing population. There is an increasing need for accessible high-quality information and advice services in social care as service users, particularly self-funders and personal budget-holders, want to make informed choices about the types of care available to them. The development of the personalisation agenda means greater choice and control for people planning their own care and support and access to a variety of tools to help them negotiate what can be a complex and mystifying system.
This meeting will include presentations and discussions on some of the tools and services available and the issues they raise for information professionals with regard to best practice.
