A vacancy has arisen for an Institutional Repository Coordinator at the University of Strathclyde.
The University wishes to appoint a full time Institutional Repository Coordinator for the University’s Institutional Repository service. The appointment will be made on a fixed term basis for 24 months to cover the secondment of the current Institutional Repository Coordinator to the role of Policy and Compliance Manager, in the Research and Data Management project. Based in the Andersonian Library at the University of Strathclyde, and working with technical support from Technical Services (both part of the Information Services Directorate/ISD), the successful candidate will be working under the Research and Data Management project’s Policy and Compliance Manager within Research and Learning Support as part of a team spanning the ISD and the Research and Knowledge Exchange Service, supporting the Institutional Repository service and the Research Data Support and Sharing services, which run across the University’s ePrints and PURE/current research information service platforms.
The successful applicant must have experience of and expertise in digital library implementations in a Higher Education,
national library or research-intensive environment preferably with specific experience of work in metadata standards and/or data integrity management issues. Knowledge of repository-CRIS systems would be highly desirable, as well as current awareness of issues surrounding research information curation and data management/research administration. You will have a track record of working in IT/information projects and be well organized, with an ability to manage and prioritise your own and others’ work, with a track record of delivering to deadlines. A first degree in a relevant subject, or equivalent relevant experience in a similar or related role is required. A postgraduate LIS or Information Management qualification or the equivalent is desirable, as is an awareness and experience of wider research policy issues in HE environment.
