Full Time (37 hours week)
Salary: Up to £28,000 p.a, depending on experience
Due to the growth of the successful UKMap product, The GeoInformation Group is looking to expand the UKMap team. We are looking to add project staff to the existing team to help maintain the databases. The roles will be to work alongside the existing UKMap team, providing support in both a management perspective as well as being able to offer technical solutions where necessary.
You should have a reasonable level of GIS knowledge, in both practical terms and fundamentals, plus a working knowledge of FME and ArcMap is essential. Some project management skills and experience would also be desirable.

Job Purpose: The successful candidates main duties include could leading a team of GIS staff in the data collection, data processing, and data publishing of the UKMap database. The successful candidates will assist in generating reports of progress to the UKMap project board, and working with the project board to set targets and strategies for future UKMap updates and developments.
In addition to these main duties, the successful candidates may be involved in the production of bespoke projects, based around the UKMap data.
Desirable Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
• Degree qualified, preferably in a geography/GIS discipline.
• Strong IT Skills – using databases from an end-user and production perspective.
• Strong GIS Skills – Experience with ESRI, MapInfo, and FME.
• Knowledge or experience of using and interpreting aerial imagery.
• Ability to work as part of a team and act as a team leader providing inspiration where necessary.
• Good people skills, co-operative working, and positive attitude, ability to listen and provide feedback.
• Keen and self-motivated, methodical, neat, fast and accurate worker.
