Twentieth Anniversary Conference!
The next FGLS conference will be held at Newnham College, Cambridge, from
9th–11th January 2014. For the third time we will joining with our
colleagues from the North American Society for Germanic Linguistics for a
combined meeting.
Call for Papers
We invite submission of abstracts for papers on any area of Germanic
linguistics. All paper presentations will consist of a 20-minute talk
followed by 10 minutes for questions and discussion. The languages of the
conference are English and German. Abstracts should be no more than 300
words in length and will be peer-reviewed by the conference programme
organizers. Abstracts should be submitted by 6th September 2013 to

Workshops/Thematic Panels
Four 3-hour slots in the conference programme will be reserved for thematic
panels. Submission of proposals for a thematic panel should be made by 30th
June 2013 so that intending speakers can be invited to choose between
submission to the general programme or to one of the thematic groupings.
Invited Speakers
We are delighted that Joseph Salmons (Lester W.J. "Smoky" Seifert Professor
of Germanic Linguistics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison) has
accepted our invitation to be a plenary speaker. Further plenaries to be
announced.
