Hi,
I guess you are pushing the FSL tool or BASH scripting a bit too hard
when trying to find a easy way to do that ;-) As far as I know, both,
fslstats and fslmaths have no option to determine the the mode of the
data (though I think something like an -Tmode option would be nice in
fslmaths).
I would rather recommend to write the values to a text file and to your
calculations with for example R or Matlab. You can use fsl2ascii or
fslmeants (option --showall, but skip the first three lines since they
are the voxel coordinates).
