Please find below, details of a forthcoming conference, on Site
Investigation at the ICO Conference Centre, 22 Berners St, London W1 on
13 June.
Challenges to local authorities, consultants and contractors in
interpreting the revised statutory guidance for Part 2A, including
identifying Category 2 and 3, development of Category 4 screening levels
and changes to the planning regime in relation to site investigation
will be among of the issues covered.
Others include:
*Quantitative Conceptual Site Modelling and how to identify the type and
quality of data important for building an accurate Q-CSM;
*Translating CSMs into a potential generic/detailed risk assessment;
*Using BGS geotechnical data, 3D models, and historical site data;
*Guideline levels for asbestos in soil, the timetable for new guidance
and the procedure to use in the meantime;
*Improving relationships between consultants and contractors and a local
authority partner, via a case study looking at how to achieve more
focused, cost-effective site investigation;
*High Resolution Site Characterisation (HRSC), along with some case
studies;
*Comparison of purge and non-purge sampling techniques in a chlorinated
solvent groundwater impacted chalk aquifer;
*Improved techniques for ground gas and VOC monitoring to achieve better
quality data
