The University of Leeds Library has received initial support and a development grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) for the "Treasures of the Brotherton" project.
The project aims to create free public gallery space, opening in 2015, to showcase the rare books and manuscripts of Special Collections. There will also be a programme of family events, talks and volunteering opportunities so that people can learn more about and enjoy the collections.
Over the next 12 months we will be developing our plans towards a stage 2 application in June 2014. We invite tenders for 2 related workstreams; to support the creation of an activity plan and a conservation management plan.
