Dear all
It is the one book that Crowley never altered, he was adamant that it should
be read exactly as it had been dictated to him by Aiwass (his HGA) ----
that was it.
Whilst I do not consider it a particularly holy book and whilst I know he
plagiarised from many late 19th century esotericists (mostly GD members and
Anna Bonus Kingsford) 'The Book of the Law' is his (and Aiwass'?)
intellectual property and whilst it could be made into a pastiche by anybody
it should not be altered to make it more acceptable to the present day OTO.
Crowley often made a pastiche of other authors' works and a pastiche of
'Liber AL vel Legis' might be faintly amusing to read but a few
alterations to the original text would make it look like a bowdlerised
Shakespeare play for use in convent schools.
kind regards
Elaine Bailey

Subject: [ACADEMIC-STUDY-MAGIC] OTO proposed change to the Book of the Law
Hi All;
There has been a debate in the Thelemite world lately over a proposed change
to the text of the Book of the Law by OHO of OTO William Breeze. It thought
that this might be of interest to some of the people here on the list.
these are the only links that I can find at the moment

This post pretyy much sums up the arguments for and against:

I'd love to hear what you think
