Yesterday Adobe announced that there will be no CS7 and that the only way to use Adobe's major apps in the future will be via the Creative Cloud.

Lightroom is not currently a part of this move apparently, but Photoshop is.
A quick scan of the pricing structure makes interesting reading, could Adobe's business plans price you out of using it or can you afford it? Maybe you will just have one licence from now on? The cheapest personal pricing is £17.50 p/m for one app, do you think this is affordable and just another monthly bill like your mobile phone contract?

But the biggest unknown could be how IT and Finance departments react to this, will your IT dept allow this access through the firewall to perform the monthly activation? Capture One activation was not allowed by my IT dept, so assuming it's the same type of activation they may not allow Adobe CC either?
Who knows, but what do you think and could you get by using another app such as The Gimp? How much life do you plan to get out of CS6, a couple of years, five years or more?
Lots to think about at some point for all of us.
