you'll have to use something that can cope with Flash, for now... this is a longer term aim

Good question. I think you might still need to create using a PC because - as far as I understand - the authoring interface is still based on Flash.
That said, I know Ron has talked about the Puffin Browser running Flash on an iPad so maybe you can.
In the long term the developer team want to redesign the authoring interface to work in HTML5 as well and add new functionality but that depends on a mixture of timescales and funding opportunities.

With Xerte 2 will you be able to create resources for ipads using an ipad or will you need to use a pc? As we have several schools who are using Ipads for staff and students.
