Fair synopsis, but I'd add this to the Documentation:
- SJ suggests two levels to improve configuration documentation.
First, project managers should levy the requirement on developers to
provide sound config documentation to allow a sysadmin
to use any suitable config manager (e.g. puppet, yaim, ...)
Second, sysadmins who discover defective config documentation
(such as "run yaim") are entitled to regard that as a bug,
which should be ticketed in the normal way.
That is the message I intended to convey, but I may have
used a different form of words.
