> what's the output of latex2html configure look like?
I didn't notice any glaring errors in the config.log.
The only error that I could see was this.
configure:2626: gcc -c -g -O2 conftest.c >&5
conftest.c:2: error: expected '=', ',', ';', 'asm' or '__attribute__'
before 'me'
configure:2632: $? = 1
configure: failed program was:
| #ifndef __cplusplus
| choke me
| #endif
Comparing the latex2html logs for Snow Leopard and Lion, most
differences are version numbers. Significant ones:
ac_cv_header_jpeglib_h=yes
ac_cv_lib_jpeg_jpeg_write_scanlines=yes
on Snow Leopard but all are set to no on Lion. The paths to GIFTOPNM,
PPTOGIF and the like point to /usr/local/bin on Snow Leopard, because of
my homebrew installation, but in the Lion configure they have no path,
just the name of the respective executable. It looks like it's netpbm.
I had another go with homebrew last night and it failed to complete the
netpbm installation, telling me that I already have libtiff and to
unlink it but applying the instruction didn't seem to make any
difference.
So I had a clearout and reinstalled homebrew using git rather than the
ruby command. I fixed a few things that "brew doctor" complained
about. That didn't help last night. However, this morning after
a switch of directories "brew install netpbm" has got further. I had to
link jpeg and libtiff.
It's still working as I write. Fingers crossed.
