Hello SSL User Group list members,

As mentioned at the Index+ User Group meetings, System Simulation
are partners in the Europeana Inside project, an EU Best Practice
Network led by the UK's Collections Trust (Nick Poole, Gordon
McKenna, et al.). Europeana Inside is a project aimed at getting
vendors of museum collections management systems to make it easier
for their users to upload selected content to Europeana.
Europeana is a huge combined catalogue of the EU's cultural
heritage - http://europeana.eu/

We're looking for people who would be interested in participating
in Europeana Inside trials. This applies chiefly to those of you
based in the EU who have Spectrum-based catalogues of heritage
objects. I've been having specific conversations with some of you
already - this is a broadcast message to make sure anyone who
wants to has a chance to join in.

During 2013 we will be trialling initial implementations of the
new software - known as the ECK - the Europeana Connection Kit -
running inside our systems, and we're looking for content owners
who would like to be involved in some way in these trials. At the
minimum, we would use parts of your catalogue for Europeana upload
trials, and you would need to do nothing else. Of course, you
would also have the opportunity for a greater involvement,
trialling the mapping tools, providing input and feedback to
developments, getting access to internal documentation, attending
and participating in content partner or technical meetings, etc.

You could participate informally (by just saying "yes" and saying
which bits of your catalogue are OK to use). Or there is an
"Associate Partner" arrangement, with a short form which the
Collections Trust have drawn up which you would sign.

If this is of interest to any of you do get in touch - normal
number 020 7836 7406.

With kind regards,
Michael.
