The London Centre for Social Studies (LCSS) is hosting a roundtable discussion on the topic titled The Evolution of the Welfare State: From Beveridge to Current Times.
The date of this event will be Wednesday 24th April 2013 from 12.30-2.30.
Confirmed keynote speakers: Prof. Peter Taylor-Gooby OBE (Professor of Social Policy at the University of Kent)
Dr. Peter Kenway (Co-founder & Director of New Policy Institute)
Anna Coote (Head of Social Policy, New Economics Foundation)
With theories made about the benefits on offer and the incentivisation for people to work, we thought that it would be appropriate to discuss the role of the welfare state in society and how this has evolved over time with different governments in power. We were also looking to discuss the current governmental reforms on the welfare system as well.
We plan to record the event, take photographs as well as produce a transcript of the event to put on our website for the benefit of our followers.
