Subject: Job Vacancy: Research Data Support Officer, University of Strathclyde
Sorry for cross-posting..
A new RDM job at the University of Strathclyde which may be of interest.
Research Data Support Officer, Research Data Management and Sharing Project
The Information Services Directorate is seeking to appoint a Research and Data Support Officer in the Library and Information Resources part of the Directorate. This is a vital post positioned in the new Research Data Management Project, and will play an essential part in the delivery of the University’s roadmap for research data management, preservation and data curation.
The project aims to align university policies and processes with funder expectations that publicly funded research data should be made as widely available as possible in a timely and responsible manner, while ensuring that that the research process should not be damaged by the inappropriate release of such data.
The Research Data Support Officer will thus be responsible for the delivery of a research data support system based on the ePrints software package as part of the Research Data Management and Sharing project. The successful applicant should have experience of working with digital library applications in an HE environment and will have an ability to work with metadata and to adhere to and apply bibliographic or non-bibliographic metadata standards. Experience of implementation and support of research data management systems, and/or digital preservation systems, and/or repository-CRIS systems would be desirable.
You will have a track record of successfully implementing significant IT/information projects and be well organized, with an ability to prioritise your work accordingly, with a proven experience of delivering to deadlines. A first degree in a relevant subject, or equivalent relevant experience in a similar or related role is required. A postgraduate LIS or Information Management qualification, and awareness and experience of wider research policy issues in HE environment are desirable.
Applications should be lodged with Human Resources, University of Strathclyde, McCance Building, 16, Richmond Street, Glasgow, G1 1XQ by Saturday 27 April 2013. Further particulars and online application forms are available from the University of Strathclyde website, http://vacancies.strath.ac.uk. Formal interviews for the post will be held on Wednesday 8h May 2013
