Thanks Shona and Alayne.
I'm not sure what the solution in Manchester was for the ICT problems -
I'll find out. Does anyone else on the list have any solutions?
If you have any comments on this or ideas for the toolkit please select
"reply to all" so you can respond to the whole list.
Best wishes,
Wendy

Subject: FW: Toolkit to support BPS users of ebooks - what would you
like included?
Dear Wendy,
Step by step instructions? Staff themselves rarely use these devices in
their own time so are often not technologically able to run sessions.
Peculiarities of specific readers if applicable?
And how do you get round that ICT block the downloads in library
premises making these sessions very difficult to hold? How did other IT
sections cope with this? It is often to do with download limits to
prevent piracy and affects our WiFi and ability to demonstrate fully.
Thanks
Shona

RNIB is working with Manchester libraries to deliver sessions
introducing blind and partially sighted users to ebooks and helping
customers become more confident using the technology to access ebooks
from their library.
The learning from these sessions will be used to produce an online
toolkit to enable other libraries to host similar sessions with their
own ebook services and to enable them to support users.
We would be very interested to receive your feedback on what you would
like to see included in the toolkit. What form would you like it to
take? What would you like to see included?
I look forward to hearing your ideas.
Wendy
