Dear All
I thought I would write to thank you for the feedback received from the
ISE programme this year. The feedback does make a difference for example,
he post-it note board and the new layout of the SCHOMS lounge were a result
of good ideas fed back last year.
A quick summary of this year's feedback.
There is no doubt the event and SCHOMS scheme is very much valued by you
all. We had a 100% positive response with 29% of you citing it as good
and 71% as excellent.
The lounge is seen as a good meeting and social point. Catering is
appreciated although the over-whelming amount of cheese didn¹t suit us
(myself included). We will try and get this improved next year.
The sponsors' presentations were on the whole well received and those
who "could do better" will be told as much. It is pleasing to note that
Martin Audio (new sponsors) were particular appreciated as something
different. It is clear that presentations that occur solely in our
lounge seem to
work better. We do feed this back to the companies but
sometimes they insist on a stand visit. As we have limited control over
who the sponsors are, and what they do, it may still be an on-going issue
but we'll do our best! Also though a few people have asked about
bunching up the presentations by spreading them we gain the use of the
lounge and catering for a longer time. We are also tied in the days
being day 1 and 2 as ISE use day 3 for another group from Germany.
Other general feedback that is worth addressing:>B&B block bookings
etc. I¹m afraid we will not be able to offer a
booking service or a SCHOMS hotel the overheads would be too high and
the process a complex
one neither would there be a consensus on location, cost etc
hencethe simple expense allowance model. We tried
to help out this year by buddying up people on their own where needed
and I did host a dinner at
a Thai restaurant. This is the sort of thing we can continue to do to
help being people together.
WIFI we all would like to have access. We will ask again if only for
the lounge and see what can be done. We know it was a non-starter RAI wide
due to the numbers who would require access across the venue (approx
44,000!).
Finally I thank you all on Catherine and I's behalf for the kind words
of thanks received from so many of you regarding this event and its
organisation. We are delighted that SCHOMS members enjoy this so much
and find it so useful. We look forward to trying to make it even better
in 2014!
