Ok, I don't think it would be a problem for the official packages to pull
in krb5-libs, but I'll think about it. Only hesitation is that I think the
GSS support may involve mod_shib, not just shibd, in which case it would
be pulled into Apache processes. Not that it breaks Apache or anything,
but I'm fairly careful about that.

They can't be the same package name, no.
I assumed you were talking about a situation where one way or the other
there's a custom package involved. Actually including things in Fedora
implies using what they provide, so you'd have to get them ship both or
upgrade the system version.
