Hi Ben,
Thanks very much for the information, it's early days here and looking at the Luna website I see it's got a very interesting set of functions that is going to need a lot more thought. If I need to do you mind me contacting you again?
Best regards

Subject: Re: DAM systems integration with CMS databases
Hi Tony,
We've recently implemented EMu as our CMS to manage Special Collections material at the University Library.
We already have a 'DAM' system, LUNA. We are sharing the metadata and thumbnail images from one of our LUNA manuscripts collections with EMu via OAI-PMH. Effectively, we've imported this entire collection into EMu's Catalogue Module (which we customised to accommodate manuscripts), but will be keeping the LUNA collection as the main user interface.
This will work well for us because we're mainly using EMu as a back-office tool to manage the cataloguing of collections, and to manage the collection activities. We will continue pointing users to LUNA to view this manuscript collection.
OAI-PMH is our preferred mechanism for sharing data between systems as it makes scheduled updates fairly simple.
Regards, Ben.

Can anyone offer any advice on integrating DAM systems with CMS databases? Pitfalls, recommended solutions, thoughts and the like?
I know OpenCulture is coming up so one of our staff will be attending.
Regards
Tony
