Hi Phoebe,
I had a quick peek on the train, and it seems to work fine on my PC without needing a plugin (or if it does, I must have had it already)
My 10 minute observations are:
- does what I expected. You can see right round the room
- on my PC the navigation worked as I expected using touch screen (so if I swipe left it pans right as I was expecting it to. )
- I expected pinch zoom, but it didn't undrestand that and I ended up looking at the intriguing plughole fisheye view that appears in the centre of the room (pinch zoom would have been good, but this wasn't a biggie, although you should try it on tablets as that user function is much more expected on iPads, phones etc)
- I added a comment and sign up was relatively simple
- I used the add email option, not facebook
- it said it was sending me an email, but it hasn't come yet (10 minutes later) which was confusing
- in real life, I wouldn't have commented on a page like this, but that probably is more about the level of personal interest in the content. My tastes are not likely to be representative of your target audiences perhaps
- I couldn't see any other comments to see what otehr people's look like
- In fullscreen view, I couldn't access the controls when looking at a slideshow. Only the main image. I had to close fullscreen to access the next slide

Subject: Test the Wallace Collection's StickyWorld!
Dear MCGers,
Here at the Wallace Collection we have been working on one of the
projects sponsored by ICTomorrow, aimed developing new digital tools for
the cultural sector. For the last 8 months we have been working with the
team at StickyWorld. Their platform allows organisations to publish more
interactive slideshows and 360 virtual tours, and to invite online
audiences to comment and ask questions by leaving comments in virtual
sticky notes on the slides.
We have set up our StickyWorld to create a virtual tour of our largest
gallery, the Great Gallery, which is currently closed for refurbishment
until 2014. The StickyWorld shows how the gallery used to look, and
links to information about the objects that were previously displayed in
the gallery, much of which is now in store. We are also posting photos
of the build as the project progresses.
You can visit the great gallery here:
http://wallacecollection.stickyworld.com/room/presentation?roomid=6
As you can imagine, we would love some feedback if you have a spare ten
minutes over lunch! The project is still in public beta testing, so
please do send the team at StickyWorld your thoughts on the software.
You can send them comments or requests on their support desk
, send an email to [log in to unmask] or
tweet @stickyworld - #Great Gallery - they will be pleased to hear from
you.
Many thanks,
Phoebe

BT DIGITAL ARCHIVES: Come and Hear All About It
BT Heritage has been working with Coventry University and The National
Archives in a mass digitisation project to increase access hugely to
BT's archives.
The collection as a whole, recognised by UNESCO and Arts Council England
for its national and international significance, details the history of
Britain's leading role in the development of telecommunications and the
impact of this technology on society.
Funded by JISC the project has catalogued, digitised and developed the
next generation digital surrogates of almost half a million photographs,
images, documents and correspondence assembled by BT and its
predecessors over 165 years, and a core part of the overall archive.
We are hosting 2 FREE seminars: London and Coventry
At the seminars we will show you how we worked together to make this
happen, the challenges we faced when digitising the images and records,
and the ways we used innovative gaming technology to bring the digitised
archives to the public in an exciting new way.
Teachers, students, researchers and the general public in the UK and
overseas will have unprecedented access to our scientific and cultural
telecommunications heritage, enabling them to utilise the archive for
studies and leisure from anywhere in the world.
You'll learn about the work of the academics on the project team to
incorporate case studies on linguistics, problem -based learning
scenarios and design to enhance the learning experience of users.
