We are in the final stages of implementation and our IS department has been working with us to figure out a policy to cover this new tool.
My own thoughts are that due to the nature of the software (ePortfolio) that we may need to keep backups over a longer period than the current method we are using for our Moodle installation.
I am thinking that we keep archives for 3 months. However we also need to make it clear, perhaps using the Mahara messaging system, that users are responsible for maintaining their own information.
I would be interested to hear other peoples thoughts or even perhaps what other people are doing regards back up and archive of ePortfolio information.
